Auckland City Hospital – Getting here

The main entrance to the Auckland City Hospital site is at 2 Park Road, Grafton.

Emergency Department

If you are coming to the Emergency Department, follow the 'Adult and Children's Emergency' signs.

Updates

Construction work is ongoing at Auckland City Hospital. This may cause traffic delays while driving on-site or accessing the car parks, so please allow for extra time to get to your appointment.

Please note that Grafton Bridge is reserved for buses only between 7am and 7pm weekdays. This means no trucks, vans or cars can use the bridge between these times. However, it can be used by pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists at all times.

Public transport

Use the Auckland Transport Journey Planner() to help you plan your public transport options - train, bus and ferry.

Waitematā – Community to Hospital Shuttle

The Waitematā – Community to Hospital Shuttle [PDF, 217 KB] is available to transport people from west Auckland and Rodney to outpatient appointments at Auckland City Hospital, Starship and Greenlane Clinical Centre. There is a charge for this service.

By car – limited parking available

Please note that parking is limited on the Auckland City Hospital site and there are often queues to find a car park. There is a sign at the Park Road entrance that will tell you if parking is available in either carpark A or B. Carpark B is the closest car park to Starship Hospital.

There are costs to park in both car parks A and B.

If possible, consider taking public transport or being dropped off and collected. There are several 2-minute drop-off parks outside the main entrance.

There are mobility car parks available in Carparks A and B. There are also two outside the Level Three drop-off point at Starship. There are two electric vehicle charging stations for electric cars on the ground level of Carpark A at Auckland City Hospital.

Please help us to ensure the roads on our sites remain accessible for all. Please do not park on yellow lines, footpaths, grass areas or block access ways.

Only park in disabled car parking spaces and restricted parking areas if you have the correct sticker or permission.

If you do not display the correct sticker or are parked in restricted areas your car may be towed, at your expense.
