"Sandy is an amazing compassionate person who understood how difficult and stressful it was for my husband John to come to terms with being blind. She was always bright, made him laugh and told him he could do this.

"As John struggled to come to terms with his sight loss, Sandy talked and encouraged him to get up out of bed and gave him the confidence to move forward. She also organised for him to have a visit from a guide dog and handler and has put him on the foundation list to get a guide dog. She contacted the foundation to make sure he had a white cane and an Alexa so he could listen to books when home. She put us in contact with the appropriate people who can help.

"She rings us every week to see how John and I are getting on. She is one super-efficient person who makes it happen. She is passionate about what she does and without her we couldn't have coped with this huge change in our lives. Sandy goes above and beyond to be positive and help. We love her to bits and she’s a true local hero."
