Maria had only been here for a couple of weeks when we received the first notification of measles in March, which has led to the measles outbreak we are continuing to manage. Maria was allocated the measles, mumps and rubella portfolio. Her ability to pick up this portfolio and be the clinical lead for this outbreak demonstrates ‘aim high’. She has provided strategic leadership throughout this outbreak leading a team who have all worked over and above to support the management of this outbreak. Maria has at all times lived the Auckland DHB values - aiming high, showing respect and held the team together ensuring staff were listened to and adapted our outbreak approach as required. She has liaised with external stakeholders, again demonstrating our values to negotiate outcomes that would work for all parties involved.

She is a wonderful asset to the team and we are pleased to have her.
