World Rally Event – Auckland Domain – Thursday 29 September

After 10 years away, the FIA World Rally Championship is returning to Auckland. To mark the occasion, there will be a promotional event at Auckland Domain from 3pm–9pm, Thursday 29 September.

The event is sure to be a lot of fun for those attending, but roads through the Auckland Domain will be closed from 8am Thursday 29 September to 1am Friday 30 September. There may also be additional traffic prior to and after the event as organisers set up and pack down the event.

If you’re planning on visiting Auckland City Hospital or Starship on Thursday 29 September, here’s what you need to know:

  • Road closures will be in place in the Auckland Domain, but you will be able to access the hospital at all times
  • Please allow additional time to get to your appointment on this day
  • Additional security will be on-site to ensure access for our patients and whānau.

Road closure affecting hospital access

Roads within Auckland Domain will be closed from Thursday 29 September 8am to Friday 30 September 1am. These include Winter Garden Road, Domain Drive, The Crescent, Football Road, Kiosk Road, Maunsell Road, Cenotaph Road, Museum Circuit, Lower Domain Drive and Grafton Mews. Public Transport

There will be no changes to public transport as a result of the event. You can find all the details at Auckland Transport().

Hospital Parking

Hospital car parks are not available for event parking. Our security team will be monitoring our car park buildings to ensure they’re only used by patients and whānau.
