For urgent, less serious health concerns inside business hours
Visit your family doctor (GP). If you don't have a GP, find one near you at HealthPoint. (external link) Or call the FREE national 24/7 Healthline 0800 611 116, where a nurse will assess you over the phone. Get advice and treatment for common minor illnesses from your community pharmacist.
For urgent, less serious health concerns outside of business hours
You can still call your GP for assistance; he or she is required to provide an after hours telephone service. Or you can visit the After Hours Healthcare Network (external link) to find the Accident & Medical clinic closest to you.
For serious injury or health concerns that need emergency attention
Or when referred by your doctor, go to the hospital emergency department or phone 111 for an ambulance.
